With a $5 correspondence course in
ice cream making and a $12,000
investment, Ben and Jerry opened
their first ice cream scoop shop in
1978 in a renovated gas station in Burlington, Vermont.
Although the business has grown and
expanded along the way, Ben and
Jerry's remains committed to making
the best possible ice cream in the
best possible way, by sourcing non-
GMO and Fairtrade ingredients, eggs
from Certified Humane cage-free
farms, and milk and cream from family farms.
They are founded on and dedicated to
a three-part mission that seeks to
create linked prosperity for everyone
connected to the business--suppliers,
employees, farmers, franchisees, customers, and neighbors alike.
